lyrics

coriander was your only daughter
holding the leg of a duck
march 13th was malting season
white feathers covered us

after all the rain had fallen
and the pond had overflowed
coriander started growing
where she’d never before grown

out of the cracks in the road
out of the patches of snow
out of the house that we all called home

i remember summer brittle
finding horses on our way
on a hill side when the sun beams
were hitting on the hay

coriander went to seed then
and I picked off all her heads
to put in jars on the windowsill
scatter in the garden beds

into the patches of snow
into the cracks in the road
into the house that we all called home

into the patches of snow
into the cracks in the road
into the house that we all call home
